It’s raining outside. Hello winter in England. It’s these kind of days that make me think of my dream travel list. Where would you travel next if you had the opportunity, money, and time? Here’s my (updated) travel list.
My Top Dream Destination – Bhutan
Bhutan has been on my Dream Travel list for ages.
I love that this country has Gross National Happiness model. While other countries Gross Domestic Product, and it’s all about the money, Bhutan has Gross National Happiness metric. The country measures how happy its citizens are and this is the indicator how well the country is doing.
It’s a stunningly beautiful country where citizens love looking after the environment and are proud of its culture.
Hopefully I’ll get there one day. Have you been to Bhutan?
New Zealand – Hobbiton and more
New Zealand needs no introduction. Breath-taking views, lovely people, fewer dangerous animals than in Australia… 🙂
As a film fanatic, I am dying to visit the Hobbiton, and do a tour around the places where Lord of the Rings was filmed.
If you’ve been to New Zealand, what unusual places or activities would you recommend?
Fiji – beaches, Suva, and Cast Away
While I’m in New Zealand, it would be a short jump to Fiji. Just look at this beach. I am not a huge fan of just lying on the sand all day, but I would certainly not mind spending hours in such a scenery. This looks like a pure bliss.
Fiji is not just paradise beaches. I would definitely explore its lush forests, and I’d love to witness the Kava ceremony. I also have this vision that all food is incredibly healthy and yummy. Also, as a film fanatic, I’d try to get to the island where Cast Away was filmed!
I’m sure I’ll experience it all one day 🙂
Norway – fjords, train ride, and winter scenery
Back in Europe for unforgettable views and landscapes of Norway. Norway has been on my dream travel list for years – and I just can’t seem to get there.
I appreciate that capturing such a scene as the one of Bergen is quite exceptional, but still, I’d love to be there.
The fjords and mountains would be my main aim in visiting Norway though. Looking at the pictures of Norway fjords, I feel you end up feeling very small, and overwhelmed at the same time. I’d like to experience the vastness of the space standing at the top of a mountain, and looking around me.
Last but not least on my dream travel list is Italy – Tuscany
Believe it or not, I have not been to Italy. I have been to so many countries in Europe, and as far as Samoa, but I haven’t been to Italy.
For ages, the thought of Italy brought only Rome and Venice to mind. I know I know – very limited. Rome and Venice – beautiful places, overflowing with history and stunning views. Unique – no other places are like that. The thing that has been stopping me from going there – and to Italy – are the crowds. The idea of an unreal number of people per square meter is utterly not appealing to me.
But Tuscany is a different story. Every person who has been there is in awe of the views, not to mention the incredible food, people, and wine. And so Tuscany is now on my dream travel list – hopefully I’ll stand on a hill and look at the views in front of me in awe as well 🙂
What’s on your dream travel list? Have you been to any of my dream destinations? Let me know in the comments!
