My Adventures

  • You’re one YES away from your next adventure
I was reading an article in Vanity Fair or Total Film the other day. In it, Celine Song, director of “Past Lives” was telling readers how hearing a Yes led to her producing “Past Lives” film. This one Yes eventually opened the doors to carrying out her project. I am fascinated with the concept of choice. And how saying Yes or No to an offer or opportunity can change the course of your or someone’s life. Should I stay or Should I go? Every day we are faced with choices. Should I eat my leftovers from yesterday, or should I get a take-away? What should I wear today? Should I watch another episode of “3 Body Problem” or maybe I should eventually go to sleep because it’s 1am! You probably wouldn’t consider these mall choices […]
  • My next adventure – a trip to Dartmoor National Park
How are we today? Have you got any plans for trips this year? Me – contrary to the last year, when I went to Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, and Japan, I have very little planned for 2024. And therefore, I am very much looking forward to any getting away this year. First up is my trip to Dartmoor National Park. Have you been to this part of England? I haven’t yet – hence me looking forward to it! Here’s what I am planning to do and see when I’m there. Castle Drogo This impressive building was the last castle to be built in England. Finished in 10th century, it’s a country house and a castle, which was commissioned by a self-made millionaire Julius Drewe (what to do with your money…) Image credits: Visit Dartmoor I’m looking […]
  • Celebrating Women All Over the World – International Women’s Day
8th March is International Women’s Day. I personally have been celebrating it ever since I was born, believe it or not. And I still come across people who have never heard of it. If you’d like to learn more about it, take a look at this information put together by United Nation. International Women’s Day dates back to early 1900s. It is tied with various organisations and women around the world fighting for the rights to vote, to make choices about their bodies, to study and do jobs that they had not been – and are still not – allowed to carry out. I personally couldn’t be more grateful for the persistence, bravery, and resilience of women through the years thanks to who I can do and be so much more than they were allowed […]
  • Where would you travel next – my dream travel list
It’s raining outside. Hello winter in England. It’s these kind of days that make me think of my dream travel list. Where would you travel next if you had the opportunity, money, and time? Here’s my (updated) travel list. My Top Dream Destination – Bhutan Bhutan has been on my Dream Travel list for ages. I love that this country has Gross National Happiness model. While other countries Gross Domestic Product, and it’s all about the money, Bhutan has Gross National Happiness metric. The country measures how happy its citizens are and this is the indicator how well the country is doing. It’s a stunningly beautiful country where citizens love looking after the environment and are proud of its culture. Hopefully I’ll get there one day. Have you been to Bhutan? New Zealand – Hobbiton […]
  • Solo Cooking – Salmon salad – My Cooking Adventures
Those of you who know me will be rightly suspicious about the top picture. Indeed, I didn’t take it. But as I mentioned in my first Adventures post, I am challenging myself with cooking this year. One of the reasons I am not a fan of cooking is that it takes time and lots of ingredients. And if you factor solo cooking into this, it all becomes a bit pointless and exceptionally costly. BUT that is not my attitude for this year. Here’s a little thing I cooked for myself the other weekend – a salmon salad. It was quick and easy, healthy, and required minimal prep and only a few ingredients. Salmon Salad – ingredients What do you need to make this uber simple but wonderfully yummy dish? I am not kidding – this […]
  • My adventures – Sunrises – how to start a day with a wow
How do you start your day? Do you rush to work or school? Do you do a morning work out? I try to start it with a wow, and I’m being serious 🙂 How? Nearly every morning, I go for a walk. Unless I’m driving to the office, I go for a quick morning walk before I switch on my work laptop. I treat these walks as little adventures – I really do. I started going for these morning walks when I lived in Sweden. Back there, sunrises would leave me in awe because of where I lived. These days, being back in England, I always try to spot something that would make me smile or make me say Wow in the morning. I go for these walks no matter the weather – it doesn’t […]
