If you’ve been following me for a bit, you’ll know that I used to live – and work – in Stockholm. I am dedicating this year, 2023, to revisiting places that and catching up with friends. And Stockholm was the first on the list. So come along and take a walk around Stockholm with me 🙂
I remember every corner
One of the best feelings when you travel is arriving at a destination and realising you don’t need a map. And you don’t need it, because you remember every corner and street of the place you are in.
This was me on Friday when I arrived in Stockholm. Smiling like crazy walking down from my hotel. On the Friday, I did a huge walk around Gamla Stan, and Kungstradgarden.
Iconic buildings and views
Stockholm has some postcard-perfect views and buildings. A walk around Stockholm is never boring. Take a look at these pictures I took in my 3 days in Stockholm.
Water, green spaces and gardens everywhere
One of the many things I love about Stockholm is the unreal volume of green spaces. Also, wherever you go, you will be at some waterfront. A walk around Stockholm will nearly always take you to a garden – big or small. I find it very calming.
Just in case you’re planning the trip to Stockholm, I stayed in Nordic Light Hotel. It is literally a 1 min walk from the last stop of Arlanda Express – the train that takes you from Arlanda Airport to the city. And I would absolutely recommend staying in this hotel.
Make sure that when you are in Stockholm, you make the time for a walk around Stockholm. The city has an abundance of museums and incredible venues that are absolutely worth visiting. But a walk will give you a nice sense of what Stockholm is like and what the Swedish people are like (and they are great!).
